Thank you to Emily of the delightful Monster Lady’s Diary who nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award! Rules: Answer 7 questions, create 7 of your own, nominate 7 awesome bloggers to answer them! Goooo!
To answer Emily’s questions…
1. Do you like your media digital or physical?

I’m all digital except regarding my Nintendo Switch games, in which case physical is always preferable. I like collector’s editions of console games (when I have consoles) and I like to trade or resell stuff when I’m done with it too. I’ve got the Fire Emblem Three Houses Collector’s Edition coming next week, so I’m pretty hyped for that. There’s just something about holding a freshly opened game case in your hand, you know? That new game smell…
2. If you could learn any type of dance, what would it be?
I wish I could actually remember how to swing dance so that I could keep up with my boyfriend better when he makes me do swing dance occasionally. He mostly just flings me around and spins me to make up for it. Hahah
3. What do you love most about being a geek?
I love being involved in geek communities because the tend to attract intellectuals more than non-nerd hobbies do, so you end up having in depth, interesting conversation rather than shallow small talk.
4. What’s the latest game you’ve got into?

Oh goodness, I bounce around so much between titles. I was replaying Final Fantasy X, but then I got backed up with game reviews. I have a feeling I’ll be hooked on the new Fire Emblem for weeks, followed by the Spyro Switch release. I’ve also been playing a lot of My Time at Portia on Switch to see if the patches finally fixed the broken port. (It seems fine so far!)
5. If you’re a Netflix user, what original series are you looking forward to?

On Netflix, the Witcher series, definitely. Henry Cavill makes a much better looking Geralt than I was expecting and I’ve heard he’s a HUGE Witcher fan himself. Imagine getting to play the protagonist from your favorite game. Henry’s living the dream!
6. If you could have one thing only from your favorite movie(s) what would it be?

I’m not a movie buff and I have always a hard time deciding on a favorite, but I’ve seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended, of course) more times than I can count, so we’ll say it’s that. Gandalf’s staff, perhaps? A golden Eagle friend? A pet Samwise? A Palantir would be nice, but the lost seeing stones aren’t all accounted for, so anyone couuld be watching… No, definitely a Hobbit hole. Just give me a homey hole to hide in.
7. What’s your favorite hobby that doesn’t involve a screen?

Scale model kits! I build and paint mecha animal models kits called Zoids. Or rather I used to and still would if our current studio apartment had room for it. Zoid HMM models are super pose-able, extremely detailed, and I love to paint highlights on them. I even posted about them a few weeks ago. I should really dig up and share some more photos.
My questions:
1. What was the origin of your most long term geeky interest?
2. What is the meaning behind or origin of your typical username for gaming or forums?
3. If you were going to live forever on an isolated island and could only have access to three types of food, what would you choose?
4. You know when your brain sometimes replays embarrassing memories against your will? – What’s one of yours that always comes up?
5. What is your favorite blog post you’ve written and why?
6. How have you personally grown over the past several years?
7. What’s something your readers wouldn’t be able to guess about you?
Nominating: Lorraine, Ithlinne, Duane, Frostilyte, Dei Sophia, Naithan, Slannxe, and anyone else who’s in the mood to answer this set of questions.

I’m looking forward to the Witcher series too, I don’t know why I have mixed feelings about Henry playing Geralt, but just did a bit of research and I see he’s a big fan, having read the books and all. I’m going to write about the trailer on my blog soon.

Him fangirling over it in his interview I saw was just adorbs. I really hope he does the role justice.

You don’t want a pet Samwise! Imagine how much he’d cost in food, beer and pipes! He’s a hobbit after all!^^

Funnily enough, I have yet to get a single physical Switch game. I think it’s because I like the idea of being able to, well, *switch* a game on the go easily.

But like what if you need to sell it one day? D:

Well, it helps that a majority of the Switch games I have are digital-only anyway. Plus, I’m not liable to get rid of the A-list Nintendo games.

I admit, I was expecting the new trailer to be a LOT worse, and now I’m tentatively excited for it! It does put my mind at ease that Cavill is a massive Witcher fan. I always like it when actors

Are we finally moving out of the long “live-action video game adaptations are horrible” era? Because that would be nice. It’s good to hear that Cavill is a Witcher fan, because I guess he’ll be able to bring a lot to that performance that other actors wouldn’t.

I would mostly agree if I didn’t like the Witcher series and novels so much.

Nice! The Fire Emblem: Three Houses Collectors’s Edition! I admit I haven’t played as much Fire Emblem over the years as a would have liked, however I am pretty excited to get this after it releases.
